The first of my projects was the ship called "Black
Pearl" that I have added alongside.

The bits of driftwood collected over a lengthy period of time seemed to say "SHIP"

and

It was one of those magnificent Knysna days when the sun mirrored the sky in the lagoon, the seagulls floated on the gentle breeze and the Oyster Catchers ran along the sand feeding on molluscs and prawns. I set up the bench and fashioned the ship with memories of clippers under sail that I had seen ...

There is something biting down there...

Richard Dry Vis
Then, on one winters morning, as I sat sipping my first cup of coffee looking at the collection of drift wood we had gathered in our travels, and I began to see the backbone of a giant fish, lying on the deck.

I grabbed the piece, positioned it on the workbench and started adding the body and dorsal fins to the sculpture.

Soon I had the basis for the full sized model of my first Fish who we affectionately have named Richard - The Dry vis !

These bottles are filled with Citronella Oil which when lit chases mosquitos and other night bugs.

Bottles to keep the mozzies away !
I made up these bottles using natural materials that I found on my travels. I then read about how I could chase those pesky mozzies while we were sitting out on the deck enjoying our sundowner, so I added this feature to the bottles.
