One Day while strolling down the beach...

We live in the most amazing part of South Africa in a town on the Southern Cape Coasts called Knysna.

We are blessed to have the most amazing setting for our town, in the centre of a tidal lagoon and with the natural forests as the backdrop.

One afternoon while my wife and I were walking down a beach in the area called Buffels Bay (which translates into Buffalo Bay), I noticed a piece of driftwood lying some distance down the beach that looked like a ship stuck in the sand. Being an artist at heart, I began to look around and noted that there were lots of other protruding bits and pieces of wood and rocks in the area and a picture started forming in my minds eye.....

I gathered up some of the loose pieces of wood, tucked them into our picnic basket and headed home with them. That afternoon I began working frantically to form the bits into the picture shapes in my minds eye.
